IoT Software Engineer

GlobeRanger is expanding to take our Industrial IoT Platform to the next level. We need bright, hungry, innovative developers that want to be part of something special and work with unique Edge-to-Cloud technologies. This position will be based in Richardson, TX.


.Net is the only must, and experience with connected devices is a strong plus.

Technologies you’ll be exposed to:

Will include .Net, connected devices, RFID and other sensors, database (SqlServer/Sqlite/Oracle/Postgresql), NoSQL, Cloud Foundry, mobile applications, web, edge computing, cloud computing, integration into enterprise software (SAP/Oracle/RedPrarie/etc)

Typical challenges we’ll want you to solve:

Scalability, multithreaded design, distributed computing, high volume transaction processing, logic mobility, automation.

About you

  • You are solid in .Net but hungry for other technologies.
  • You can sit down with a problem that you won’t find answers to on StackOverflow and make things work in a unique and innovative way.
  • You can stand at a whiteboard in a room of experienced architects and take control of the design, but you also don’t mind allowing someone else to drive.

Travel is not required but there may be many opportunities.

Technical Solutions Project Manager

If so, the Solutions Project Manager position in GlobeRanger’s Services Organization is for you!  You will get the opportunity to lead projects, participate in architectural and technology decisions, work with internal leaders and external customers.  You will be responsible for execution of one or more projects at a time with influence over requirements, hardware selection, design, development, testing, documentation, packaging and delivery.

Job Requirements & Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Manages scope, resources and timeframes effectively to meet client expectations profitably
  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
  • Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.

  • Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.

Technical Understanding

  • Possesses general understanding in the areas of IoT, RFID & sensors, solutions development, ERP, WMS, programming, database and system design.
  • Understands Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures.
  • Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application to client engagements.

Secondary skills preferred on as-needed basis

  • Provide pre-sales consulting on company products
  • Assists with product demonstrations for prospects, tradeshows and partners
  • Identifies business development and “add-on” opportunities as they relate to a specific project.
  • Build relationships with customers in order to fully understand the customer’s objectives and follow on new opportunities.
  • Assists in proposal efforts
  • Effectively conveys our message in both written and oral business development discussions and demonstrations

Experience / Tools

  • PMP certification preferred
  • Microsoft family of desktop software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, etc.)
