Tracking Crime Scene Evidence
-- Case Study --
The NFI RFID track and trace initiative was formulated in close cooperation between the Public Prosecution Service (OM), the police and Dutch Forensic Institute (NFI).
Compelled by the Schiedam Park murder case report, key government standards were established requiring all pieces of criminal evidence (SOVs) to be traceable and identifiable.
Each year, NFI receives and tags approximately 100,000 SVOs, resulting in over 800,000 process events being generated and store.
