iMotion
Platform
Visual Development
Development of solutions in iMotion is highly visual. High-level business processes can be expressed in Visual Workflows through simple drag, drop and connect operations on logic components. Real world environments, complete with sensor devices, can be modeled in the Visual Device Emulator, enabling creation and enhancement of business processes before initiating expensive and time-consuming physical deployments. And, as a complete packaged platform, iMotion can be readily extended with your custom business logic through Microsoft Visual Studio.
Event Workflow Editor
iMotion expresses business logic as Visual Event Workflows. Workflows are created by selecting business logic components from a palette, dropping them on a canvas, and connecting them to indicate event processing flow.
Edge Events enter the workflow from Edge devices such
as RFID readers and handheld computers. Business context
is supplied from your enterprise systems. Event Workflows
apply that business context to the events to transform
them into business events that are actionable by your
enterprise systems.
Visual
Device Emulator
Developing Edge solutions can be expensive and difficult. Extensive investment in real-world devices, networks and other infrastructure can be required before solution feasibility can be assessed and solutions development completed. Further, developing and testing a solution against a real-world deployment is time-consuming and, often, disruptive to normal business operations.
iMotion eliminates this expenditure on physical infrastructure, reduces implementation time and eliminates operational disruptions by offering the Visual Device Emulator. The Emulator allows you to not only diagram your physical environment, but also to supplement that environment with emulations of the planned Edge devices. These emulated devices act as the real-world devices will, enabling your solutions to be proved feasible and developed before physical deployment begins.
Extending the iMotion
Platform
iMotion is a specifically designed to be extended with your custom or proprietary business logic. iMotion provides a complete SDK, including abstract classes and Microsoft Visual Studio extensions, to enable you to easily create Workflow Components. These components appear in the palette of the Workflow Editor alongside those provided with iMotion, enabling you to develop only your unique value-add logic while leveraging the hundreds of components provided with the platform.
Similarly, the Visual Device Emulator can be easily extended with custom emulated devices, enabling you to model any unique devices that my be present in your solutions. This ensures that the cost and time-to-solution benefits of the Visual Device Emulator can be secured for your unique solution.
